New National Regulations

By popular demand, what are your thoughts on the new National Regulations put forward by the FFA that take place on January 1st? (Can be downloaded from the FFA website, www.footballaustralia.com.au). Although they seem quite necessary and applicable for most clubs, Trevor is right in saying that it will only increase the amount of total work club volunteers are committed to completing!

More discussion on this topic can also be found at Blackjack's blog; www.tasfootball.plebian.net.

It seems pretty weird that players under the age of 18 arent allowed to sign for an overseas club unless their whole family is relocating for a reason?! I understand that we want our local game to progress, but what about the likes of Harry Cool and Emo who have dominated from their early European experiences ...

A club can only refuse to sign a player if it meets "valid competition reasons", e.g. number of players per team or available fields and coaches. What the?? Surely a club can refuse players?

Joe , this is a FIFA rule , it was brought about because of the actions of many European countries like - France - Holland especially taking 9-13 year African kids from their homelands and placing them in their Academy systems, naturalising them and the African countries losing out all together -Vierra is a classic example-

Yeah Trevor I can see your point, however does that mean that players cant go even if they have their families support?

I do NOT wish to go to plebian's site. This site is much much better.
