Pre-Season

Is starting pre-season in late November, early December too much? Many AFL clubs have already begun preperations, and we know that our football is a different game, but what is the ideal start for an ideal pre-season? Soccer 10 months of the year!

I agree to get respect with in the community that all playing groups are equally prepared and have the same desire to be at the top of there sport, though... I have children that play in both codes and one gets match payments and the other does not. Both are in the north of the state. the one that gets match payments is about to start pre season training and the other does not start until Jan. While I agree getting paid to play at this level should not be an incentive. there is a difference in funding/sponsorship levels and council backing in the codes that needs to be addressed in the bid to bring soccer/football to a level where you can expect the soccer/football players to treat them selves more seriously, which I think is missing. Maybe Football Tas can help to get this code as an equal? PS don't forget all clubs that I am aware of are volunteer based from president down with in soccer/football.

No reason I can see why we should start training before January, after all we are not pro's and if you cant get total match fit in three months, chances are your too old to play any way!

As for paying players, Its up to the clubs themselves, but if a club needs to bribe players to play for them in Tassie then thats up to them! I rekon its a crock however! will never happen in the club im involved as long as i'm on the committee!

Its really a waste of money, if the person doesnt want to play for your club to win the title with you then they arent really the kind of person you want at the club are they??
